Wang Xiaonan goes on an eight-day cultural exchange trip to Pyongyang. Upon arrival, although she is supposed to learn from a North Korean dancer Kim Eun-sun, several conflicts arise because of misunderstandings. However, after they learn that Eun-sun's mentor is, in fact, the old friend Xiaonan's grandmother has been desperately looking for, they clear up misunderstandings and start to bond with each other. Meet in Pyongyang explores the relation between China and North Korea through a friendship between two dancers. With a theme of traditional Korean dance, the film portrays how artists awaken their creativity and recover their passion.
