On April 25, 2018, four friends set out on a journey to North Korea led by a Marxist writer Davide Rossi. Traveling around the world’s most opaque and mysterious country, they vividly capture how they feel. Their journey is filled with mixed emotions: they feel anxious about and overwhelmed while still longing for a socialist country that has not been yet corrupted by capitalism. Once they arrive in Beijing after finishing their journey, they start to ask questions to Chinese about the socialist ideals, which are now things of the past. This film explores the relationship between ideal and real and displays a mood of melancholy about the ever-changing world.
