Summer in Gangwon: The Festival of Peace and Prosperity

The 1st PyeongChang International Peace Film Festival (PIPFF) is a film festival that screens films that deal with various aspects of peace. PIPFF succeeds the desire for peace confirmed by the successful hosting of PyeongChang Winter Olympics last year that excited and touched the hearts of the whole Korean peninsula. The films will be screened at venues on various scales- mainly at PyeongChang Olympic Stadium and PyeongChang Alpensia, and Gangneung. The festival will provide unique opportunities for its visitors to see and enjoy, including extraordinary exhibitions and events. As the first international film festival to be held in Gangwon-do Province, PIPFF aims to become a festival that adds a cultural layer to the province’s magnificent natural environment.

PIPFF brings together films that encompass the past and present of North Korea, one of the most sensitive interest of the world today and new movies that deal with global issues such as refugees, human rights, and wars. In line with the 100th anniversary of Korean cinema, masterpieces that deal with the division will meet the audience once again. With Fam tours for the audience and guests of the festival and performances and movies at outdoor screening facilities of PyeongChang Olympic Stadium, PIPFF will present unforgettable moments for those who have been missing the fever of PyeongChang.
