Program Note

Right before a primary school’s summer performance in the UK, Mehdi, a young Syrian refugee boy stages a protest on the school rooftop, turning the school event to chaos. Martha who attends her daughter’s performance tries to have a conversation with him but other adults are busy with judging him and his situation from their own perspectives. The film is a comedy that shows the apathy and prejudice against refugees in a light mood. It leads the audience to think about themselves rather than judge others.
