Some said that Jeju Island was originally called “Jeoeogeu” literally meaning “over there” in Jeolla dialect and later changed into its present name. In this film, the island over there is a place of enlightenment, only graspable through “fragments of moments” exploring the relationships between appearance and disappearance and between life and death.※"Over There

A second collaboration of Jang Minseung and Jung Jaeil from Ipsuk Bugeun(2016). While their first work took place in Seoraksan, this time they filmed Hallasan and Jeju. Despite the constant visuals and sound filling in the experience, Over There still offers some blank space. During its 45 minutes, the audience can imagine about “over there”. More of an abstract piece than a landscape, fog, mountains, ocean, and waves move as if they were directed. On top of this, Jung Jaeil’s music creates a type of narrative, and sorikkun Jeong Eunhye’s voice feels like a requiem. A record of a soulful nature.
