Chinese film director Yang Shu has been forced to remain in exile with her family in Hong Kong after creating an anti-government film. The only way to communicate with her mother left alone in China is via Internet. Yang Shu takes the opportunity of meeting her mother during her visit to a film festival in Taiwan by arranging to cross paths while her mother is on a mainland company leisure tour. However, the difference between mother and daughter results in unwanted consequences. Depicting the complex situations these two women get into during their encounter with each other in Taiwan, this film can be a metaphor for the relationship between North and South Koreans dreaming of achieving communication in the future despite the fact they are physically separated living under different political systems.
