Program Note

“What is art?” To this grandiose question, the documentary answers that it is the work of overpassing walls and boundaries. Korean graffiti artist Royyal Dog is known for painting black girls in Hanbok on the murals of K-town in Los Angeles. American graffiti artist Espy conducts the K-Town Wall Project in the same area. Two artists alternately talk about various themes in Borderless Walls, which captures a facet of L.A. culture, crossing many borders itself. In between Korea and the United States, art and pop culture, legal and illegal…Borderless Walls conveys communication through graffiti.
