Program Note
Since her mother goes to Syria as a war correspondent, Susan stays with her grandmother during the summer. She meets Rana who lives in a Syrian refugee camp near her grandmother’s house. A girl from the desert and a girl from the city eat, play, and laugh together in the beautiful countryside. This fairytale-like story illustrates the irony of the world through the eyes of an innocent girl and gently soothes the viewers.
